I’m not sure how many of these I’ll do, but this is the first (hopefully not the last) video in what I’m calling (for now) “Talk About Catholicism.” This first one is “Talk About Purgatory.” It’s an un-scripted, from the hip answer to three questions:
- How did you understand this subject before you were Catholic?
- What happened to get you to be open to thinking differently about it?
- How do you understand this and explain it in simple (and, be sure to be biblical) terms now that you are a Catholic?
That’s it! It’s not a comprehensive “everything that can be said” presentation. It’s just me giving a fairly casual and high-level discussion starter; a “talk about” — and hopefully food for thought as you yourself interact with the big ideas in Catholic theology and thinking that are often hard for Protestants to accept. Perhaps my approach can help you as you navigate your own questions.
